You can create a Task for an email that has been filed in FYI directly from Outlook.
- From the email in Outlook, click the FYI Add-in icon.
The FYI Drawer displays.
Click the Add Task icon in the action bar in the FYI Drawer.
Or, click the Task section of the FYI Drawer to expand it and click the Add Task button.
In the FYI Drawer, select or enter the filing fields for the task, or change any defaults that have been given:
Subject - enter a brief subject for the task. This displays in the lists in FYI.
Client - Type at least three characters of the client name to display all clients containing those characters anywhere in the Client Name. Then click to select the required client.
If Task Security is not enabled in the Practice Settings for your practice, and when a Client has been selected. you can select a Category for the task. Refer to Practice Settings.
Cabinet - If Task Security has been enabled in the Practice Settings for your practice, you can select a Cabinet for the task. You can only select one of the Cabinets that you have access to. Refer to Practice Settings and User Groups.
Assignee - Select the name of the user assigned to the task.
Due Date - A due date of two days from today's date is given as the default. This can be changed by clicking on the field and selecting from the calendar.
Start Date - you can optionally add a Start Date to the task by clicking on the Start Date field and selecting the date from the calendar.
Status - This defaults to "In Progress", so when the task is created, nothing needs to be actioned on it.
Details - Type the details of the task. Remember that when the task is created for a document or email, you can easily display the document/email to provide context for the task
The assignee is notified about the task and the task is displayed in FYI Task lists.
