To guarantee that FYI can fully leverage your practice Microsoft 365 subscription and ensure your users are on the latest version of FYI Desktop for Windows, you need to add the FYI for Office and the FYI for Outlook apps to your Practice Microsoft 365 account.
This is a mandatory step, that must be completed before your team begins using FYI.
You must be a Microsoft 365 Administrator for your practice to complete this function on behalf of other users. It is recommended that you add the FYI Add-ins centrally for all users using the method below.
Alternatively, individual users can add the FYI Add-ins (refer to Adding FYI Add-ins as a User from within Office and Outlook). This may be a good option if only a small number of individuals are accessing FYI during your 30-Day Free Trial. If already added for individual users, the FYI Add-ins can still be added for your practice Microsoft 365 subscription at a later date without affecting each individual user’s setup.

Step 1 - Locating the FYI Add-ins in the Microsoft Store
- Go to https://appsource.microsoft.com
- Log in using the credentials of the user with Microsoft 365 Administration privileges for your practice.
- Search for FYI
You will see 2 apps at the top of the list:
FYI for Outlook and FYI for Office.
Both of these need to be installed in your Microsoft 365 account.
Step 2 - Installing FYI for Outlook
- Select FYI for Outlook
- Click Get It Now.
Note: If the Get it now button is greyed out, refer below to If the Get it now button is greyed out, then continue with the steps. - Follow the prompts.
- Open Microsoft 365 Admin Add-ins (refer to the Microsoft help article Manage add-ins in the admin center).
- Highlight FYI for Outlook
- Under Assign Users Select 'Everyone'.
Or, if you wish to restrict access to the Add-in select Specific users/groups and add the users that you want to have access. - Select either Fixed, Optional or Available depending on the degree that you want to roll out FYI to your practice.
- Fixed - This will deploy the Add-in automatically to all users and they will not be able to remove it.
- Available - Users will be able to install this Add-in by clicking Get More Add-ins button and going to Admin-managed.
- Optional - This will deploy the Add-in automatically to the assigned users but they will have the option to remove it.
- Click Save.
If the Get it now button is greyed out
If the Get it now button is greyed out:
- Click the Edit your details link.
- Enter your details and confirm that all the boxes are filled out.
- Click Get it now.
- Complete the steps in Step 2 - Installing FYI for Outlook above.
Step 3 - Installing FYI for Office
- In the same way as installing FYI for Outlook, in the list of Apps in the Microsoft Store, select FYI for Office
- Click Get It Now
- Follow the prompts.
- Open Microsoft 365 Admin Add-ins (refer to the Microsoft help article Manage add-ins in the admin center).
- Highlight FYI for Office
- Under Assign Users Select 'Everyone'. If you wish to restrict access to the Add-in select Specific users/groups and add the users that you want to have access.
- Click Save
