Documents created in FYI include a Delivery Status, to indicate if a document has been sent to a client or not.
- As a Word document is generally used for correspondence, the Delivery Status is initially set to "Draft" .
- As a spreadsheet or presentation is generally not used for correspondence it is initially set with a blank status for the Delivery Status.
The Delivery Status is changed to ‘Sent’ performing one of the following functions:
- If a document has been sent out physically, for example, by mail, for information purposes, you can use Mark Sent to manually set that a document has been sent. This would usually be used for a Word document, Excel spreadsheet, a PDF, or a PowerPoint presentation.
- Send allows you to send FYI document(s) via email either as the native document(s) or as PDF attachments. The underlying email is automatically filed in FYI and a record of the send is shown in the Activity of each document that is sent.
