FYI users are maintained via Xero Practice Manager. To change the email associated with an FYI user, this needs to be done in Xero Practice Manager.
The change then needs to be synced to FYI. The sync can be run manually by an FYI administrator to update the email address straight away or it will synced automatically overnight.
- To change the email address of an FYI user:
To edit users in Xero Practice Manager, go to the Business tab and select Settings, then click on Staff and click into the staff member's details. Click Save.
If your practice uses Xero Tax, not Xero Practice Manager, users are maintained via Xero Tax. This is done from the Xero Tax menu Business > Settings > Staff menu and clicking into the staff member's details.
- The sync is not automatically updated to FYI immediately.
An FYI administrator needs to manually synchronise Users to update the change in FYI straight away. Refer to Running a Manual Sync with Xero Practice Manager in Synchronising Clients, Staff, Jobs, Time, Tax Returns with Xero Practice Manager.
If this is not synchronised straight away, the synchronisation from Xero Practice Manager or Xero Tax happens automatically overnight.
Important Note: This will only update the email address where it has been updated in Xero Practice Manager. If a new user has been created and the old user deleted in Xero Practice Manager, this will not update the user record in FYI.
