You can see the details of a job by displaying the Drawer or opening the job. Refer also to Opening a Job.
To open the Drawer, select a job on the workspace by clicking in the list anywhere other than the Job Name or the Client name. The Drawer displays.
Click the Details section to expand this.
You can use the Drawer to perform maintenance on a job, such as changing the job State.
When a change is made, this is automatically updated to the job in Xero Practice Manager as part the synchronisation.
You can use Bulk Update to update details on more than one job at a time (refer to Bulk Update of Filing Details). You can also add Time Sheet information by clicking the Add Time icon in the Drawer. Refer to Time Sheets.
To open the Job and display the full details, click Open Job in the tool bar in the Drawer.
Or , select the Job in the Jobs workspace and click Open in the tool bar.
Comments can be added to a job. These can be used to add any notes and also allow team members to collaborate on a job. Refer to Adding Comments and Notifying Team Members. The last comment that was added is displayed on the Jobs workspace.
Opening the Job in Xero Practice Manager
To perform any additional maintenance, you can open the job in Xero Practice Manager. Select the Job in the Jobs workspace and click Open in XPM in the tool bar (you may be prompted to login to Xero Practice Manager).
Notes: If the "State Type" of a job is changed in Xero Practice Manager to "On Hold", "Completed" or "Cancelled", the job stops being synced in FYI. If you make any changes, such as to the Job Name, to any job that is not current in Xero Practice Manager (that is where the "State Type" is not "Standard") this will not be changed in FYI.
When updating the State in a job in FYI, the sync to Xero Practice Manager is immediate, but updating the State in a job in Xero Practice Manager the sync to FYI is overnight.
If you want to notify any users that a job's State has changed, you can add a Comment. Refer to Adding Comments and Notifying Team Members.
