You can return to Draft emails later to make changes and send.
Emails that have been saved as “Draft in FYI” or “Draft in Outlook” can be re-opened and sent either from FYI, or from Outlook.
Important Note: If at any point you make any changes from the FYI - Drafts folder in your Outlook, all further changes must also be done in Outlook.

Re-opening and Sending a "Draft in FYI" Email
When an email has been created as Draft in FYI, it shows in the lists with a blue Draft icon.
To edit:
- Select the Draft in FYI email in a list.
- Click the Editor tab from the Drawer.
- Make any changes required in the Editor or click Full Screen to expand the email.
- You can use the Preview function from the Email Editor to see how all the Merge Fields will populate. Refer to Previewing the Draft in FYI Email in Creating an Email in FYI.
- When you are ready to send, from the Editor click Send.
To send the email without any further editing:
- Select the Draft in FYI email in a list.
- Using the tool bar, or the right-click pop-up menu (refer to Using the Document Action Tool Bar), click Send.
Re-opening and Sending a "Draft in Outlook" Email
When an email has been created as Draft in Outlook, it shows in lists in FYI with a grey Draft icon.
Emails that have been saved as “Draft in Outlook” can be re-opened and sent from Outlook or from FYI.
- Locate the email in your FYI - Drafts folder in Outlook, edit and send it from Outlook.
Or - Re-open the email from FYI and use Outlook Online (via the browser) to continue editing and send.
Using Outlook to Re-open and Send a "Draft in Outlook" Email
You can open the email, edit and send from Outlook.
Important Note: Once you have made any changes from your FYI - Drafts folder, if you need to make any further changes, this must be done in Outlook.
- In your FYI - Drafts folder in Outlook, locate the email.
- You can edit, and re-save the draft in Outlook if needed.
If you make any changes from your FYI - Drafts folder, any further changes must also be done in Outlook. - Send the email from Outlook.
When you send the email, it will be automatically filed in FYI and removed from your FYI - Drafts folder.
Note: Do not move, delete or rename the FYI - Drafts folder in your Outlook. The FYI - Drafts folder needs to be a top-level folder in your Outlook. If you cannot find your FYI - Drafts folder, refer to FYI - Drafts folder in your Outlook in Sending Immediately or Saving a Draft.
Using Outlook Online within FYI to Re-open and Send a "Draft in Outlook" Email
You can alternatively re-open an email that is Draft in Outlook from FYI and use Outlook Online to edit and send via the browser.
- Re-open the Email via the browser.
There are several ways to Re-Open:
If you have your settings so that Open Outlook is "Online"
Clicking Re-open automatically opens the draft in Outlook Online in your browser. Refer to Setting Defaults and Filing Defaults for your own Login - My Settings.
You can access Re-open with any of the following:
- Right-click over the email and select Re-Open from pop-up.
- Select the email in the list and click Re-open from the tool bar.
- Select the email in the list to display the Drawer and from the Preview pane, select Re-open (refer to Previewing an Email).
If you have your settings so that Open Outlook is "Desktop"
Instead of clicking Re-open, click the button next to the Re-open button and select the option Re-open in Browser. - When the draft is open in the browser, click the Continue editing icon (this shows as the pencil).
- With the email open In Outlook Online make any changes and click Send. This will remove the draft from the FYI - Drafts folder in your Outlook.
Or
You can also select Save draft from the menu that displays with the ellipsis (...) to save the changes and Re-open it again it via the browser to make further changes.
This will also update the email in the FYI - Drafts folder in your Outlook.
